When I use sample snippet like <object type="image/svg+xml" data="https://opencollective.com/xxx/tiers/backers.svg?avatarHeight=36&width=600" /> all content on my page after this tag is not displayed.

According https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/object object MUST have an ending tag. Changing the snippet to <object type="image/svg+xml" data="https://opencollective.com/xxx/tiers/backers.svg?avatarHeight=36&width=600"></object> fixed the problem.
