The license of Neo4j - the current OpenRCA graph backend - is GPLv3 which makes it hard to propose into CNCF.

ArangoDB was chosen as an alternative:

  • Comes with AL2 license.
  • Provides high performance in comparison to Neo4j and other graph databases.
  • As a multi-model database allows storing graphs, key-value, and document structures.
