It would be very helpful if OpenSCAD could provide a proper cut away view. I've seen that in a video using Fusion360 and it was very helpful to visualise the parts. This would help me look inside the object to check if touching parts are at the correct position.

The cut away view would need to be placed at any plane and offset. Maybe it could cut at any geometry so that two cuts can be seen at the same time. But that's not strictly necessary.

I know that I can use the intersection function (as shown in the below screenshot) but that loses all information about the edges of the geometries that are cut through here. Even with edge view enabled, there is nothing to see on the intersection surface. So while this lets me look inside, I don't see very much there. Also, the colour of the cut through geometry is lost, which would help separate the parts.
