GPS stays active

I'm using OpenScienceMap 0.5 on Android 4.4.2 (Moto G). Once I used a mode which requests position, the GPS stays active even if I return to the launcher screen. I have to quit OpenScienceMap manually to stop it. This will cause a big battery drainage I guess.
