Question about PHP version

What PHP version is recommended? in my server I'm able to choose different versions.

The upper one is 7.1, but I want to use the more stable.

We are using 5.6 and 7.1 in our testing environments. So either of them should be fine.

with 5.6 and 7.1 it works, but only in my external server (hosting).
In local mode, with XAMPP, the blank page appears when PHP 7.1 is running.

With other server, with PHP 5.6, works.
