Multiple small issues with the text of this document:

  • This page desperately needs copy-editing.
  • On setup wizard page 3 (AP settings), it says to choose the channel; there should be a note about the mesh and AP having to be on the same channel.
  • It also says to make your node a gateway you should go to the Additional Network Interfaces page; this is not required nor IMO recommended.
  • The screenshots are generally super low resolution
  • This is a confusing sentence: “Click on “Administration” and enter the node’s admin user and password—which are “root.””
  • The note about “CGI process did not produce a response” should be removed.
  • Change the administrator password: doesn’t mention need to fill in the current password
hostnames and SSIDs don’t need to be blurred out in the screenshots...they aren’t PII.
  • wut? “Enter the number and time increment desired in the text box and select meny provided.”
  • There is no way to view nearby mesh devices when not logged in, contrary to what the instructions say. [Remove text]
  • Includes reference to “Quickstart”, which isn’t a thing any more. [Now Setup Wizard]
Says to uncheck “keep settings” when upgrading. [Remove?]
  • “Advanced Commotion mesh settings -> Changing mesh configurations” section is redundant. [Remove]
  • In “Finishing up”, it says to provide gateway just plug it in. A reboot is needed.
