Hello, I looked into the similar issues but not sure what solution to go with. I teach animation at middle school, and one of the students lost her 200+ drawings because of the unexpected software crash. I understand that we should check her Sandbox in order to restore saved frames ( I have not tried that yet). I just want to prevent it from happening to the others as we are about to finish the animation project. The OS is Windows. Thank you in advance.

It is amazing that OpenToonz is used for teaching others about related animation topics.
The software is well known for its crashes and it is still a work in progress finding the root of them all.
For that to happen, every bit of information related to how the unexpected error occurred is needed - the last actions taken before the crash, for example.
As you already know, everything goes to the "OpenToonz Stuff/sandbox" folder. I encourage you to check it and see what's saved and not. One advice I always give is to hit "ctrl"+"s" frequently in any software due to such situations.
