OPTICKS-1600 - GeoMosaic positions images incorrectly

I imported two MODIS L2B .tif files and stitched them together with the GeoMosaic tool. The result was that the images were offset incorrectly. This was verified by exporting them to kml and viewing the result in Google Earth. I also exported the individual images, and they appeared correctly.
