See opws/opws-dataset#146 (comment) - there should be a rendezvous point summing up everything that's off the table in schema design (like falsy values, or polymorphism), and why.

This would also incorporate the thoughts on "model clarity" described in opws/opws-dataset#150.

The beginnings of schema guidelines have been imported from the wiki, per #9, with 91a0bb0 - the guidelines as written don't address any of the issues raised here, though.

I'm gonna address the stuff listed here, then I'm going to file new issues for deeper dives into exploring further schema-design details.
