Allow passing user input as properties from the cli -Dfoo=bar.

If a required user input is not provided and the --batch option is supplied, the invocation should fail.

Surface invocation failures with dedicated exception types that can be processed to provide meaningful error messages from the cli (.e.g. missing user input is documented with cli syntax)
