I made this package https://github.com/angelhdzmultimedia/ahdz-nuxt-scaffold which has a binary that can be used as
pnpx https://github.com/angelhdzmultimedia/ahdz-nuxt-scaffold new
or with global installpnpm add -g https://github.com/angelhdzmultimedia/ahdz-nuxt-scaffold
I can run its binaryscaffold new
.It works beautifully.
The issue comes when I make changes to the package, push the changes, and want to update the installed global package. I tried with
pnpm update scaffold
but it didn't work that day, so I assumed I had to uninstall it and install it fresh from Github, but then I get tons of errors.Recently I discovered that when I install it from Github, files are created in %USER_PROFILE%/AppData/Local/pnpm/store and %USER_PROFILE%/AppData/Local/pnpm/global, that after I executed
pnpm remove -g scaffold
, they remained.Deleting everything in those folders (because they have non identifiable names) I could then install the package fresh from Github without errors.
My question is:
What's the proper way of removing and updating a package installed from Github which has a binary, that appears in pnpm folders as both the Github repository URL + package name (
github.com+angelhdzmultimedia+ahdz-nuxt-scaffold@e11d51a9e0792c3d3a26e44abd37e6350512d429
), and the binary name (scaffold
)?Thanks.
