SurrealDB has an embedded mode, but as far as I know it's only in Rust (the host language) and there are no current bindings for other languages. I think there's effort into making it compile into WebAssembly for bindings with JavaScript on the browser. Check out https://surrealdb.com/docs/integration/libraries/webassembly. it may sound easy to say use surrealdb or firestore either one of them.
i really love the way surrealdb works but i want a reliable backup for my apps and games so i cannot come out of Google firestore that easily.
Django uses sqlite as database as well, in which case i feel it would be better if django can work with surrealdb.
Google, Django any 3rd party framworks wont want to include surrealdb.
but SurrealDB has to make sure that they provide packages and plugins to all best frameworks out there
