Posting Guidelines for Feature Requests & Enhancements

The Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC) encourages UFS community members to post requests for new features and enhancements in the Enhancements category. These requests are collected and sent to management for prioritization. Note that EPIC works on features related to supported repositories only. These repositories are:

• UFS Weather Model (WM)
• Short-Range Weather (SRW) Application
• Land Data Assimilation (DA) System
• Unified Post Processor (UPP)

When posting a request, include a thorough description of the feature or enhancement including:

• Description: General explanation of the desired feature and the problem it resolves.
• Purpose: Why is this feature needed? (use case)
• Requirements: What does the new code need to accomplish?
• Acceptance Criteria (Definition of Done): What does it mean for this feature to be finished?
• Dependencies (optional): Does this feature/capability require resolution of preexisting issues (if so, provide link to GitHub Issue)? Does the nonexistence of this capability block progress on current work?
• Proposed Solution (optional)
