And it made wonder what's the impact of the rating knowledge on my game. A simple idea to measure that would be to have an option called "Hide Opponent's rating during the game". The option would be set to off by default, but if the user activates it, he/she will play rated games against other players without knowing their strength. The opponent rating will only be displayed once the game is finished.
Sorry in advance if this idea has been proposed in the past or if you may simply think it's dumb :-)
