On the Android Pie/9 OsmAnd app stops track recording while the screen is turned off because of the GPS signal turns off along with the screen.
The issue occurs with SAMSUNG A7 device.

You have to disable battery optimization for OsmAnd. You can configure this in Android's battery settings menu.

I have just experienced this as well and I have battery optimisation disabled for OsmAnd. I have also tried with Pocket Mode disabled and Adaptive Battery disabled.

No effect, after ~5 mins OsmAnd is no longer tracking.

Happy to run tests and provide logs to help out.

Device: OnePlus 3
Android: 9 (OxygenOS 9.0.5)
OsmAnd: 3.4.6

Problem remains with OsmAnd 3.4.8.

@roadSurfer Hello! Unfortunately, it is known issue of OnePlus devices, they have they own background app management algorithm.
You can read about it here https://dontkillmyapp.com/oneplus.
There is good news, they said that in the future they will change the behavior. https://9to5google.com/2019/09/10/oneplus-background-apps-custom-roms/

Oh, thanks! I did wonder if it was device specific, but didn't find any information. Annoying, as it used to work really well.

Guess I just have to hope the release a fix for the OnePlus 3.

Edit: Ensuring that battery optimisation is disabled and the app is pinned/locked in recent apps seems to cure the problem for now.
