When moving Kanto/Tokyo map, the screen hangs and the app crashes. Device: Samsung S8.
There is no data about the crash in the exeption.log file.

I am the user who reported the issue yesterday via the OSMAnd support email address.

I am seeing this crash on my LG Aristo using the OSMand Plus app when I try to zoom in to Tokyo. Here is some more information that I sent to Support about this issue:

Original support message

Hi! I have been using OSMAnd for a while, and recently upgraded to the
paid Plus version.

I have downloaded several maps for my area (NW USA). They are working
fine. Also a few days ago I downloaded the standard Thailand map, and
it is working fine.

However, today I downloaded the "standard" map of the Kanto region in
Japan. The region shows up in green on the overview map (indicating it
is downloaded). But every time I zoom in on that area of the map, the
app crashes.

I just thought I would let you know...

Thanks for the great app (otherwise)!

Second message I sent

I just also tried deleting this map and downloading the roads-only map
for Japan. The app also crashes when I try to zoom in on this map.

Third message I sent

I have some additional information about this problem:

a) I removed the Kanto region map, and still experienced this problem
when trying to zoom in around the Tokyo area of Japan (just using the
World Overview map).

b) I scrolled around the world and zoomed in to various other places,
and did not have this problem anywhere else I tried.

c) The map language setting had been set to use "Local language" place
names. I set it to English. The app works for longer now, but
eventually it still crashes if I zoom and scroll around in the Tokyo area.

d) I downloaded the Kanto region map again. I can zoom in for a while
but eventually as I scroll around in Japan, even with the map language
set to English, the app crashes. It seems more stable with the map
language set to English, but every few minutes, it still crashes.

e) With the Kanto region map activated, I also tried deactivating the
world map. After returning to a place in Tokyo that I had recently
searched for, I scrolled around for a while and the app crashed again
(map language is still set to English).

Hi! I experience the same issue with Hong Kong and Beijing. As @jhodgdon-drp is pointing out, setting the map language to English makes things work a bit longer. I strongly suspect that it has to do with the Chinese characters. Most features don't have Chinese characters in their "name:en" field, hence why the app might be working a bit longer. I experience this issue since the version 3.1.

@vshcherb What exactly fixed the issue? Does this also apply for #5923 ?

New NDK and updated native libs fixed, yes it also should be applicable to #5923
