Is this plugin version still necessary?

Hi,

I started using this fork of the plugin last year as fechanique/cordova-plugin-fcm was not being maintained.

Should I remain with this version of the plugin or should I move back to the original?

It doesnt appear that fechanique's repository is being updated still?

My 5 cents... I feel the need to keep this as this is well tailored around a specific task (notification) and works well.
Anyway it should be updated to be able to support latest cordova, android and ios version especially considering later this year Google will play for an API increase...

Great news :-) One point I didn't mentioned is that this one is also very easy to use once all is setup.

BTW: While updating, renaming the repository would also probably give this fork more visibility...

Hi all,
I loved the simplicity of this plugin but as it does not get updated, I'm migrating to another one.

I'd like to post some comments here about the migration to
https://github.com/phonegap/phonegap-plugin-push

in the hope they are helpful to anyone (plus as a reminder for me).

NOTE: The main reason for me to switch is because since Android 8 (Oreo), the notification payload does not affect anymore the played notification sound (just the std sound is played) and you need to handle channels which are not supported in cordova-plugin-fcm
