Hi everyone

In this session John Williams is going to cover using R scripts as a workflow (chapter 6 http://r4ds.had.co.nz/workflow-scripts.html) and make a start on chapter 7, which is about exploratory data analysis (http://r4ds.had.co.nz/exploratory-data-analysis.html)

What is EDA?

An approach to data analysis, contrasted with modelling, null-hypothesis significance testing etc.
A careful preliminary to modelling, ensuring that the right/appropriate modelling method(s) are chosen, i.e. the model corresponds to theory and data
A great chance to think carefully and creatively about visualising data
Lots of fun, and a real time-suck if you're not careful!
