If a user tries to type a tag name that contains a capital letter or special character (e.g., & but not -) then, rather than the proposed tag appearing for them to select, the message No results found appears. This is not a helpful message.

Not sure this is supported by Select2: https://github.com/select2/select2

If not, please open an issue with that project.

Why not use Bootstrap Tags Input with typeahead.js (as in the Typeahead example on their examples page?
