I just tried to update the ownCloud installation from 10.8.0.4 to version 10.9.1 that is announced in the admin web page.

When I click the "Call Updater" button a page with the following message appears:

cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: self signed certificate

and the update does not start.

I use QNAPs self-signed certificate as the NAS is only accessible on our internal network.

Thanks for reporting this bug. Actually the bug is, that you get this "update available" announcement. You shouldn't get that. Updates are only suspected to happen through the QNAP store (unfortuneatly our app isn't available there yet) or via installing a new version of the QPKG.
Though for QNAP ownCloud 1.8.0 is the latest version, we already have a release candidate for 10.9.1 (https://github.com/owncloud/qnap-packaging/releases/tag/v10.9.1.0-rc2), which just isn't released because it didn't undergo our QA process yet. But it's just running fine on our devices.

I hope that helps you and I will look into why this notification is there in the first place.

Thanks,

but as there still seem to be a few rough edges, I'd rather wait until 10.9 is officially available through AppCenter...
(but will report anything I find in 10.8)
