Going from main menu to tactical takes a while and there is no user feedback that it's happening.

Hmmm, it shouldn't take a noticeable amount of time (>0.5s) with release builds.

You're right, only takes 0.21 with release as opposed to 10s. Didn't expect the difference to be so big, seems like a lot of it comes from image being optimized. It would still be nice to have, but I'll close as it doesn't seem too relevant atm.
