I wrote similar software. My bike is on a trainer stand. I wrote software that detects the speed of my rear wheel and translates thst speed into a joystick (on the throttle axis). I frequently play Flightgear (5 times a week). Basically, the fast erI pedal, the more forward the throttle position.
