As pledge as a service is getting more common every day and will get even more common when a0 is raised and or the CIP-a0 is implemented it becomes harder and harder for delegators to differentiate pools with actual skin in the game versus pools which just took a minor risk breaking their pledge promise by accumulating and registering stake.skeys of sweet-talked whales.
I believe it would be very helpful for delegators if pools which had actual skin in the game had a special badge of some sort.
How could this be implemented?
Something like the ITN proof using extended metadata
Some json signed in parallel in one transaction by the payment.skeys of the SPO/operator and all owners.
"In parallel" is the tricky and important part, as sequential signage would allow SPOs with no skin in the game to hand over the file to sign by each sweet-talked whale. One party must at one time hold all payment.skeys to create the valid json signature which should be verified. This one party could drain all the wallets doing so, so this should be enough assurance this SPO has actual skin in the game (or the partners have very good contracts or a very strong trust relationship which the current model does not require sadly)
