I somehow overlooked PAPERLESS_DATE_ORDER when looking for a setting to address this. Setting PAPERLESS_DATE_ORDER=MDY appears to have fixed it. |

I have been going through and adding my first batch of documents (just scanned bills mostly) to train the automatic detection.
I have noticed that while paperless seems to do a good job detecting dates, it seems to want to reverse them. This is using US English date format.
If the date in the document appears as "Apr 1, 2022", paperless will properly set date created as 4/1/2022.
If the date in the document appears as "4/13/2022" (day is greater than 12), paperless will also properly set it, since 13 doesn't make sense as a month.
However if the date in the document is "4/10/2022", paperless will almost always swap the month and day and set date created to 10/4/2022.
So, it appears that Paperless is respecting the US mm/dd/yyyy settings for the date created, but when detecting the date in a document it assumes that its using the (arguably more sensible) dd/mm/yyyy format. I cannot seem to find a setting to correct this behavior.
