I think its a fairly specific situation youre running into, but its not unintentional, to answer your question. The rules are processed in order, as you know, but the consumption of documents is kicked off asynchronously (since as you note, it can be slow) and the actions (e.g. move to INBOX.Done) aren't performed until the consumption is done. I suppose it would be possible to make subsequent rules wait until prior ones have completed all consumption and actions but that would certainly be a change (and again, dont think anyone has really requested that in the past, but not certain). A possible alternative would be to have your email separate messages into different folders to be processed by paperless, then the rules wont pull from the same folder. |

Hi,
I have two email rules created:
First rule sees attachement, processes and moves to INBOX.Done, second does not process as it is not in INBOX. If no attachement, first rule does nothing and second consumes content and moves to INBOX.Done.
Unfortunately, while Paerless is consuming the attachment (which takes a good amount of time) the second rule already kicks in and sees the email still being in INBOX and start processing as .eml.
So I end up having a consumed attachment AND a consument content.
Here's the mail.log:
