It would be great to have this server written in C in order to make it work on Android or FirefoxOS.

Rewriting in C seems like a rather extreme solution. There are existing ways to run Python on Android (see: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/101754/is-there-any-way-to-run-python-on-android). As for Firefox OS, AFAIK apps for that platform are written in JS/HTML.

FxOS is b2g running on top of an android-like base system. It can run on many other OSs because its just a browser engine in fullscreen with some special apis to handle windows, hw access and so, but you can install native stuff via adb, in fact i used to port some apps to it, one of them an daemon like butterfly, but written in C and pretty abandoned with many bugs, thats why i was looking for a way to get a shell inside the b2g (js/html) connectinc to localhost server. I just want a smaller footprint to get it running there

If it's done, it would be another project so won't fix here.
I have no interest in writing this in C but if anyone do it let me know
