  • what about replacing the somewhat content-free term "data" with the corresponding integrated luminosity ?
  • what about replacing the somewhat arbitrary data amount with the needed integrated luminosity (or at least the one used) for the first discovery ?

Sounds very good, might make balancing (one of the primary goal for the next releases) a lot harder since we'd also have to take into account the real values. We'll look into it. Thanks a lot!

Wouldn't this be very confusing for people who are not familiar with the unit prefixes? Especially everything smaller than micro. Would be very cool if we could find a way to make it work, though.

You could (loosely) map barns to bytes, possibly, and discuss data in terms of GB/TB/PB etc. After all, these terms are used even at CERN: CMS talks about releasing 27 TB of data on the CERN Open Data Portal e.g.
