Make PascalABC.NET UI more friendly with a large screen #273
Comments
Why would you need 2 issues for this? |
Because it's two different issues. The other issues is about the PascalABC.NET IDE failed to follow the system's scaling setting. This issue is about the PascalABC.NET IDE should be redesigned to be more friendly with large screens. They are somewhat related, but not the same thing. Following system's scaling setting is just a temporary workaround to not having support for large screens in the first place. Btw, do you know SoftMaker FreeOffice? What I'm suggesting is the touch screen mode of it, with larger icons and increased distance between them. Of course, I don't tell you to go with the Ribbon interface like them nor add support for touch screen. I only mention it so you could get the idea what I'm talking about. |
Please publish your screenshot and illustrate your claims |
Something to be inspired: https://github.com/royqh1979/RedPanda-CPP/releases/ (please download and run it to see the UI). |
Dark theme is Unofficial - please publish usual screenshot in white theme. |
Dark or not dark is not the problem. It's still the same. |
The issue about not following scaling setting is closed. This issue is something very different. Please provide an option to make the red rectangle area on the screenshot I uploaded become larger, with larger icons and increased distance between them. You could get the idea from SoftMaker FreeOffice's Touch Screen Mode. |
The main reason is using Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, we do not support Windows 8.1 because it hasn't sufficient means to scale in high dpi. We will not be able to correct this behavior in your operating system. |
Windows 8.1 is indeed look better than Windows 7 on my machine. And as I recall it's not any better on Windows 7. I always set my screen to be scaled 125%. |
Btw, this issue is not the same as the issue about screen scaling that you closed. Please just presumed I no longer set my screen to be scaled to 125% so it's 100% (no scaling at all) and let me repeat again, I'm asking for option to make the red rectangle area on the screenshot I uploaded become larger, with larger icons and increased distance between them. You could get the idea from SoftMaker FreeOffice's Touch Screen Mode. |
Currently everything is too small. I set my screen to scale to 125% but this doesn't work as expected: #272
