listing of potential Working Group deliverables

As discussed during the July PATCG teleconference, I volunteered to start an issue with a listing of potential deliverables that would be envisioned for a Working Group.

This list in the current proposed Working Group charter draft may be a starting point:

Pre-campaign planning
Intra-campaign decisioning and optimization, such as:
    Interest-based ad or content decisioning;
    User List Marketing/Remarketing;
    Fraud detection and prevention;
    Abuse detection and prevention;
    Frequency and recency controls;
    Error reporting and mitigation; and
    Device resource management.
Post-campaign reporting and attribution 

The specific proposals I've heard discussed for the group so far include:

Current focus deliverable:

• Attribution and Measurement (Aggregate Reporting API, Interoperable Private Aggregation)

Proposals around:

• ad targeting
  • interest-based targeting (Topics API, or variant proposals including EXPAT or Ad Topics)
  • privacy-preserving re-marketing (turtledove/fledge/parakeet and other proposals for separating ad selection from where the ad is displayed)

Though I don't have specific proposals to share yet, I would be interested in standardization of:

• ad transparency metadata
  • ad content metadata, to mitigate distressing advertising
  • ad targeting metadata, to enable compliance and facilitate user controls
