Converting settlers to pioneers or geologists looses selection

When converting settlers I select a bunch of people. Then I move the mouse (and my attention) to the convert button.
Once pressed, the selection is gone and I need to locate the bunch of people again. This gets especially annoying when these guys moved around or got pushed around, or soldiers are nearby.

Please make the selection persistent across the conversion.
