https://store.steampowered.com/app/431960/Wallpaper_Engine/ zMatrix outdated. Use wallpaper it is awesome software. |
Yes it is good, but ZMatrix is the best. )) |
Wow. It's a Wallpaper Engine? |
No zMatrix :D |
Wallpaper Engine's owner Kristjan Skutta was one of those two ppl who helped me to fix zMatrix btw. |
@enusr2k can you check and post the version of zMatrix here that causing the problem with desktop icons? Thanks. |
@payalord Well, it's both version 1.5.4 and 1.5.3. |
Everything worked well on Windows 7 as far as I can remember. |
@MrFreemium Just tried some matrix wallpapers with Wallpaper Engine... that's just terrible. |
I am using "WallpaperMatrix", and yes there is another ton of matrix wallpaper :) |
@payalord Have you seen this article? |
I'd say make it an option if you work on it. I personally like that it hides the icons and the desktop just turn into a matrix. If I need the desktop I just go to the folder in file explorer but most of the time the apps that I want are either pinned to the taskbar or the start menu. |
In my case all worked fine. The main idea of this software to draw behind desktop icons always. But there is also exists screensaver that can draw matrix as screensaver over everything on top of it. |
Yes, that's why I mentioned the author of this article in readme of this project :) |
So to say, drawing over the desktop icons in not a screensaver mode is wrong behavior. This needs to be investigated and even better replicated. Possible issue is that pointer to the window that is behind icons is lost somehow or missing, and drawing happening in the same window context where icons drawn. So it might be conflict there. |
On Windows 11 this problem has disappeared. |
