Not sure if this is intendent behaviour, but when you hold down Ctrl and hover the mouse of the list of notes in the sidebar, it will select the note under the mouse pointer.

This is a functionality for rapid note opening/switching. You hold down the Ctrl or Cmd key and move your mouse over the note to open. Faster than standard mouse click.

I have to say I am not entirely sure about this functionality. There's one situation when it can be annoying, that is when you open/close the Sidebar (which also uses Ctrl or Cmd but combined with the S key). If opening the Sidebar would make the cursor to be positioned over some note, it would open it – BAD.

So I am actually thinking about removing this feature. There are better ways to quickly change the note, that is for example:

  • Cmd + [
  • Cmd + ]

Or back/forward buttons that are in the browser.

What do you think about removing this Ctrl + hover feature?

I think it could be useful for many to keep it.

I copy/paste a lot in and out of My Notes, so when I had the window docked to the right side of the screen, copied some text using Ctrl-C, then moved the mouse pointer towards the left side of the screen to the destination I ended up switching notes. Now that I know about this, I can handle it. Just got to be faster releasing the Ctrl-key, or dock the window to the right instead. I can't use the Ctrl/Cmd + brackets because I use a Scandinavian keyboard so the brackets are elsewhere.

Maybe making this optional could satisfy both groups: those who use it and those who prefer not to.

The only thing I am against, is when you hide/open the Sidebar and while holding the Ctrl/Cmd key it would change the note if cursor happen to be above it.

I'll close this for now and revisit in future if needed.

By all means please do.

I happen to select the whole note using the mouse, bottom right to top left, the mouse ends on the file list and as soon as I hit ctrl to copy the text I get the note swapped.
