Wider checklist

  • Tests should be all green
  • Changelog amended with a mention describing your changes. Note Please do NOT change the version number here. It's the project maintainers' duty.
  • Amend documentation in the "how to contribute" tutorial,
  • Amend the github pull-request template to incite developers to add the translation mechanism
  • Work out the usage of contextualised translations. "Liberation Day" may not be translated alike for a country or another, even if they're labelled the same.
  • Generate .po files for a variants (or French/France only?)
  • Add a "how to use the translated labels" in the docs
  • Add a "how to help for translation section"

Wouldn't it be worth adding the country (or group) as translation context ? Maybe "Labour day" would be called differently in a language depending on if it's the country's Labour day or another labour day ?

@ewjoachim that's in the checklist below the BIG COUNTRY list already.

it became way too big, now. Each contribution is introducing a conflict. Or we miss the translations, etc. I think we'll have to rethink the strategy here... :/

What about committing the infrastructure part with maybe the core translations? Then the rest of the work can be done step by step later.
