0.9.5.2 label always present

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install switchy! older 0.9.5.2
2. get the update online
3.

What is the expected output?
The notification about the new version is gone after I first click switchy! 
icon.

What do you see instead?
An alert about the new version every time I open Chrome.

Switchy version: 0.9.5.2
Browser version: Chrome 4.0.245.0
Operating system: XP
