Recently, changes were made to CTM (metadata supporting restart), in order to allow temp-files. Temp-files are used as proxies for the destination, so that multiple users moving data into the "same" destination can not write different chunks of the file. Upon completion of a multi-chunk file, the temp-file is renamed on top of the intended destination.
This was implemented in the "file" (CTF) implementation of CTM. However, there is also an xattr-based implementation (CTA), which was not updated, and is therefore broken. The recent work on CTF should be extended to CTA.
