Hi,
first of all the project is very nice. unfortunally the tx sound has a very hard his in sound. The "S" tone in speech will be extrem generate a "his" tones on DMR BM.
The cchange of the USB Soundcard and the Mik does not solve the problem. Changing Mic gain and tlv typ and gain also not solve also a DV30 and ThumbDV Stick not change the problem. the bad audio on tx. The DVSwitch work from audio perfekt with connected mobile android client no his S Sounds all fine.
In my area 7 OM has the same problem using different soundcards and microfones ( e.g. WM918 ECM Mic).
We think the bad sound result on the use how Dvpi uses the soundcard.
Any Idea? Bluetooth Headset line SSMBT10 Yaesu and Plantronics Voyager Legend onlx works on TX by starting DVPI an input sound warning comes up and inpit mic is not usable (is not given why ever)

PS: stability is ok no problems but no usable due t bad audio on tx

Hello Stefan,
I also noticed the same problem at home: whatever the microphone used, the sound is very unpleasant, hard and like "ripped" on the sounds "sss..." or "shshshsh...".
I no longer use DVPI because of that. It's a shame because it's a very nice project.

I had sound quality issues at first, but now I've solved them all.
I recommend it as below.

  • Get enough 5V DC power to RPi. Recommended 5V 3A
  • The sound quality varies depending on the microphone.
  • I recommend a wired Internet connection.
-. Take care of the ground.
  • If you have a cooling fan, connect it with a separate power source.
  • Do not set DVSwitch tlv gain high and adjust to Alsamixer Gain.
    good Luck!
