the only ones I use are j (down an article) and k (up an article). Strangely, these keyboard shortcuts work on google mail but not google reader.

I'd happily test any fixes if you'd like, just drop me a github message if I can help at all.

EDIT: the solution is to add google reader to the exclusion list; see the wiki for how to do so.

Are you disabling Vimium on Google Reader?

no... I see that there exists a way to disable sites, but I don't know how to do it.

OK, I figured out how to add it to the exclusion list, but the site still has vimium enabled.

My browser is Chromium 5.0.337.0 on Mac Snow Leopard, my "exclusion list" now reads:

http*://mail.google.com/*
http://google.com/reader/*

and google reader is definitely not excluded. Paging with j and k works when I'm in "insert mode" but not otherwise.

For anyone else's reference, here's how to add a site to the exclusion list:

  1. navigate to chrome://extensions/

  2. click on the "options" button for vimium

  3. edit the exclusion list

  4. hit "save options"

Try:
http_://_.google.com/reader/*

http://www.google.com/reader/*

is the simplest one that works. Damn, my bad, sorry for bugging you.

May I write a "how to exclude a site" wiki page, and possibly a short bit on that for the readme? Least I could do is help somehow.

No worries at all and, yeah, that would be great.

I added a wiki page, and here's a commit that adds to the README: http://github.com/llimllib/vimium/commit/0d43d0ae14ff99a75ed46d36d5c7840d6a5af909
