WebP Support?

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
WebP is taking over the world and would be nice to see support for this extremely efficient file format.

Describe the solution you'd like
I guess it takes more than simply adding image/webp to the ex file so I'm not sure what more adjustments would be needed.

Nothing!

Additional context
Most major websites now serve most of the content with webp over CDN due to the efficiently. I don't think that's necessary and wouldn't want current images transcoded, but allowing future images to be in webp if that's how they are originally would be great.

WebP still has significant adoption and portability issues compared even to WebM. I had hoped to enable JPEG-XL support when it started to gain critical traction in browsers, because it seems like that will be a better long-term option, but it seems now like that will never happen, to my incredible disappointment.
