  • Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.COMNative.Shell.IShellItem2.GetPropertyStore returns a HResult value instead of an int.
  • Remove the 'in' modifier in Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Dialogs.IDialogControlHost:
    • IsControlPropertyChangeAllowed(in string propertyName, in DialogControl control)
    • ApplyControlPropertyChange(in string propertyName, in DialogControl control)
  • Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Dialogs.TaskDialogButton.UseElevationIcon renamed to ShowElevationIcon.
  • TaskDialogButtonBase.UpdateProperty<T> protected method replaced with a new one, non-generic, with new parameters.

Shell 3.0

  • Changes:
    • ShellObject.FromParsingName was removed because it was redundant with ShellObjectFactory.Create.
    • ShellFile has a new constructor instead of the FromFilePath static method.
    • ShellLink inherits from ShellFile instead of ShellObject. ShellObject inheritance is still available through ShellFile.
    • The ShellLink's constructor was replaced by a static method.

PortableDevices 3.0

  • Additions:
    • Properties and events to the main object model interfaces.
    • IPortableDeviceObject.Delete method.
    • IPortableDeviceFile.TransferFrom(string path, FileMode fileMode, FileShare fileShare, int bufferSize, bool forceBufferSize, PortableDeviceTransferCallback d) method.
  • Changes:
    • IEnumerable now implements interfaces instead of IPortableDevice and IEnumerablePortableDeviceObject. However, these interfaces have changed: IEnumerable now implements only System.Collections.Generic.IEnumerable.

COMNative 3.0

  • Removals:
    • Some 'ref' keywords in native PortableDevices interfaces. These keywords have been removed for interface type parameters because they was redundant.

      • InteropTools.LOWORD/HIWORD(IntPtr) are obsolete. They have been replaced with Microsoft.WindowsAPICodePack.Win32Native.Core.GetLoWord/HiWord methods.
    • Shell.ShellObjectWatcherNativeMethods: new method: CreateMessageOnlyWindow(string, string).
  • GlassWindow inherits from a new Window class. Some content previously in the GlassWindow class now is in this type.
  • Bug fixed in ShellObjectContainer.GetPIDLs(IReadOnlyList items)
