For MPEG2 HW decoding you have to buy an MPEG2 license for the rpi:

Hope not to spam here, but maybe these are related ?

Same problem here, i was testing this with the tvheadend htsp client 1.6.6 and the tvheadend server 3~.
The same problem with an external tvheadend server and a local on the rasperry pi. no connection.
OS: openelec, raspbmc, xbian
a another xbmc (which is not on the pi) are running fine with the tvheadendserver.

Same problem here.

  • TVHeadend Server (ver. 3.2.18-4 from SynoCommunity) @ NAS Synology DJ-211 / Aver T850 DVB-T USB Stick (AF9015 chipset)
  • PVR client @ Openelec 3.0rc3 @ Raspberry Pi 512MB (SD 16GB class 10)

Live TV works only few times, most of the times I got blank screen.
Enabling the OSD debug I see the "B" value to reach rapidly the 100% after a few seconds with lower percentages. When it works the B is stable (10%) and the a/v delay is <= -1s.
And LiveTV Radio channels always work well!

If I access the server from other clients it worls fine, also with the browser support within TVHeadend..

From the syslog I see a lot of:
ntp: time slew -0.0423234 s
I don't know if it's related but maybe it helps to identify the source of potential sync problems.

Let me know if I can help with more details or tests/logs.
Cheers!

I can also confirm this problem occurs on vdr as well using vnsi and xvdr plugin. If I have a picture the stream is stable with a perfect framerate. Is this problem now addressed as being a omxplayer problem and will be solved? Or is there something we can do, add additional printf or....?

This is the wrong place for a discussing like this.
From my point of view it's a XBMC (omxplayer) related bug without any relation to the pvr backend.
If someone has the suspicion it's backend related, let me know. Otherwise I will close this issue.

Not sure, I retested the vnsi plugin and saw no problems anymore, no black screens when zapping. For xvdr and probably tvheadend(did not test it) we have this issue on zapping. For me this looks more like a xvdr and tvheadend issue than it is a omxplayer issue.

Well, I have a different opinion.
AFAIK, vnsi waits for the first I-Frame before starting streaming (at least it did in the past). That might be the cause why the omxplayer likes this stream.

This seems to be fixed with the latest commits.
