Purple Screen Keeps Popping Up #111
Comments
This has been happening for me as well over the last two or three days. Prerolls are blocked, but midrolls sometimes become "commercial break in process" at some point during blocking. Pausing/unpausing the stream typically fixes it. |
I am (was) having this too. I'm guessing the method you use is VAFT. If you can, try a proxying method. In my uneducated opinion it seems Twitch is in the process of patching the exploit that VAFT relied upon. Since swapping to TTV LOL PRO - as mentioned in #109 - I've had uninterrupted playback without issue. Edit: What I described above now doesn't work either. It seems there's nothing to use to reliably block ads at the moment, but with any luck that should change in time. |
Twitch has pushed an update. I'm sure pixeltris knows about this already. :) |
|
So you found something and not sharing? |
vaft.js is still working for me, I'm also 24/7 connected to an Estonia VPN and I think there don't have ads either. |
Nope. Twitch rolled out a new player which effectively KILLS adblockers. VAFT no longer works. |
Please let's refrain from hyperbole like "effectively KILLS adblockers" as that does not help. It seems that in some cases, VAFT still works but you contend with regular and prolonged buffering when streams are running ads. Anecdotally, I also saw the purple "Commercial break in progress" screen but only for a second or two. If you've "found something genius," please share it. |
Just started getting the "Commercial Break in Progress" screen when using VAFT. |
Closing in favor of #114 |
The image above keeps popping up every time an ad plays.
