x11/nvidia-driver fails to register #253
Comments
This is still unclean, overwritting is always forbidden. should be done cleaner imho |
I think this is something that pkgng could handle, backing up the overwritten files and using those when creating a package. Otherwise I cannot think of how to handle this situation... |
No this is unclean, I have proposed at least 3 ways to fix this, noone has accepted working, on it, that is not a pkgng problem, we have clean ways to handle it, it is a x11@/nvidia maintainer problem. |
I see, I'll leave this to those more experienced than I. A note to anyone looking for a workaround: |
Apart from this bugreport, did the ports people aware of the issue and plan to fix the issue in the timely fashion? This issue is the main reason why I haven't moved everything here to pkgng. |
This was fixed yesterday. |
pkgng refuses to register x11/nvidia-driver as it install files in the same location as xorg-server (libGL.so and libglx.so) although this port does handle it properly by moving the old files aside (and restoring them when uninstalled).
