pkgng refuses to register x11/nvidia-driver as it install files in the same location as xorg-server (libGL.so and libglx.so) although this port does handle it properly by moving the old files aside (and restoring them when uninstalled).

This is still unclean, overwritting is always forbidden. should be done cleaner imho

I think this is something that pkgng could handle, backing up the overwritten files and using those when creating a package. Otherwise I cannot think of how to handle this situation...

No this is unclean, I have proposed at least 3 ways to fix this, noone has accepted working, on it, that is not a pkgng problem, we have clean ways to handle it, it is a x11@/nvidia maintainer problem.

I see, I'll leave this to those more experienced than I. A note to anyone looking for a workaround:
cd /usr/ports/x11/nvidia-driver
make
make -C $(make -V WRKSRC) install

Apart from this bugreport, did the ports people aware of the issue and plan to fix the issue in the timely fashion? This issue is the main reason why I haven't moved everything here to pkgng.
