I just upgraded from 0.4.2 to 0.5.0 and it's wiped the entire database :-(. Presumably it just recreated the database without checking whether it already existed. I'm not impressed.

Hi realh,

how did you upgrade the password manager? Do you use the upgrade routine which is described in the README?

I wonder about this wipe, because the upgrade from 0.4.2 to 0.5.0 is not touching the database.

No, I thought I could just replace the old ppma folder in /var/ww with the new one. I realise a lot of this is my fault, but users always do stupid things, a project managing such important data as this really needs to be more careful about wiping existing data.

This software is still in beta phase and has no major release yet. But you're right, I mark this issue as planned "enhancement"
