It seems that R590 does NOT request the streams from APM itself but relies on 
the user setting the stream rates via APM planner.

That behavior makes just spontaneous FPV-flying impossible as well as basically 
excludes the usage of the OSD for users without laptop and telemetry.

It would be better not to rely on MP but to let the OSD send the stream request 
itself, like in older versions.

I agree. I've been having this issue since v2.2. In 2.1, it worked fine and 
during booting "requesting datastreams" was displayed.
If this is a choice by design and not a bug, then please make it configurable 
via the config tool so that users can decide what for behaviour they want. All 
it costs is a boolean.

There is an OSD option in MP now.

Activate that.

Should work.
