I have been trying to implement leaderboards to a game that's already been released on Google Play. After struggling for a week, I have found a comment about package naming, so I have renamed my package, created a new app on Play Console, new AdMob project etc. and now it works!

So if you are having problems with plugin not signing in, I highly suggest you to check your package name.
