This is a hard issue to try to explain with words, so I recorded a quick screencast

This is happening both for the master branch as well for the 3.0.x.

I haven't been able to figure out what's going on yet, clearly something is not being properly cleaned up after the tile is added, but sill cannot find what it is

Yes, same here. In addition, if you have the draggable blurred tile at your mouse and you press ESC, the tile gets added to the bottom instead of dismissed. That's also if you want to cancel adding a new tile.
