(binding/scala) Request to use the official group ID for scala-polars

Hi @ritchie46 @stinodego Not sure if you are aware of this, but in the past months I developed polars bindings for java/ scala projects which rely on the official rust polars crates, kind of like how it's done for Python and R. This whole thing started as an experiment because I wanted to play with rust in the java world but I see some amount of interest around the topic so I added more expressions and capabilities.

In one of the recent issues someone raised a request to make the artifacts of scala-polars available on Maven Central (crates.io equivalent for java/ scala projects) which would require you all (as owners of Polars) to be on board with this idea of having independently maintained java/ scala bindings since the project currently makes use of org.polars group ID.

Please let me know your thoughts on this and if you have any further questions let me know.

just my 2 cents, but if it's to be officially associated with polars, we should move it into the polars org like we've done with R and node.

true, I think this will be a prerequisite.

Hi @chitralverma you are already around the community for a long time. I trust your heart is in the project. Do you want to continue developing it under the pola-rs org? I can add you as owner of the repository to keep working under the polars flag. It can probably also help get more attention and community input.

Hi @ritchie46 sure, let's move this to the official organisation. then we can publish the artifacts to maven central for use.
