Checks

  • I have checked that this issue has not already been reported.
  • I have confirmed this bug exists on the latest version of Polars.

Reproducible example

print(pl.Series('foo', pd.Series([1,2,3]), pl.Float32))

Log output

shape: (3,)
Series: 'foo' [i64]
[
        1
        2
        3
]

Issue description

pl.Float32 was disregarded

Expected behavior

This, which is what would've happened with a NumPy array:

In [35]: pl.Series('foo', np.array([1,2,3]), pl.Float32)
Out[35]:
shape: (3,)
Series: 'foo' [f32]
[
        1.0
        2.0
        3.0
]
