No icon for spotify in launcher when it's running #69
Comments
It looks like you're using Spotify from a PPA. The icon probably shouldn't be breaking with that version, but the intended way to use the Spotify client in Pop!_OS is with the flatpak version. The non-flatpak version is no longer even installable from Pop Shop, and we even made the pop-transition application to assist users in moving certain apps like Spotify to the flatpak versions and off of the old and unsupported .deb versions. Can you try the flatpak version and see if that fixes it? The flatpak seems to be working fine for me: |
I was using flatpak version before & it worked fine in this area but it's wasn't respecting the auto tiling behavior at startup(& also pop-os/cosmic#232 (comment)), so I switched to this. |
Spotify auto tiling has been fixed (see pop-os/shell#740), but alt-tab between multiple instances is still a little buggy. Do you alt-tab between multiple instances of Spotify? Because trying to open multiple instances just gives me a big "Something went wrong" error on all but the first one I opened. I think Spotify was just being used as an example in that issue. |
Good to know it was fixed, I'll move right away. Thanks! |
Issue:
Icon for Spotify(installed from it's repo, not flatpak) is missing when it's running.
