Ask a Question!
Hello Portainer Team and Community,
I'm currently utilizing Portainer for managing Docker containers and I have a specific workflow that I'd like to streamline, especially in regards to using custom Dockerfiles and integrating with Watchtower for automatic updates.
Here's my current process:
I assign a name like
nextcloud-custom
and input the following Dockerfile content:Then, I go to my stack and pull the compose file with a service defined as follows:
I'm finding this approach somewhat cumbersome, especially since it seems to hinder the ability to automatically update containers using Watchtower.
Could you advise on a more efficient way to use a Dockerfile within Portainer? Specifically, I'm looking for a method that would allow for seamless integration with Watchtower for automatic updates. Is there a recommended best practice for managing custom-built images in Portainer and ensuring they stay updated with minimal manual intervention?
Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
